The Risks of Electronic Elections #5

Electronic elections were nowadays seen as a great contribution of technology to the society. Various countries all over the world were adopting to such systems in a vision of a more efficient and a more convenient elections. However, among all the advantages that these systems could offer, it is important to take consideration on the possible flaws and problems on these systems.

In my paper, different approaches on the resolutions of such problems were considered from different point of views. These point of views comprises, the government, the expert, and the public’s point of view. Each point of view suggests different resolutions on the technical aspect, the legal aspect, and the procedural aspect of the electronic elections, but all the resolutions suggested sums up into two key factors which is the development of electronic election standards, and the laws that will strengthen the implementation of these standards.

Moreover, the key factors in the development of electronic elections pointed out to be greatly influenced by the role played by the government and the voting machine manufacturers. Thus, the resolutions to the risks and problems on electronic elections, and the attainment of full efficiency of the electronic election systems lie on the collaboration that has to be built between the government and the voting machine manufacturers.
